BESS Sizing & Validation Software for Malaysia (TNB)
Most battery providers in Malaysia are EPCs selling hardware. EWISER is the independent software layer that comes first: it sizes the system, optimises the ROI against your TNB tariff, and — with Live Shadow — validates the Maximum Demand saving on your real metered load before you commit to any equipment. Vendor-neutral, payback in Malaysian Ringgit.
Software and validation first — not another EPC
Search "BESS Malaysia" and you get installers and EPCs quoting hardware. EWISER sits a step earlier, and independent of any equipment vendor: it sizes the battery, optimises the investment case, and validates it — then works with hardware partners to deliver at the lowest cost. You decide on evidence, not a supplier's pitch.
Because EWISER is vendor-neutral, the sizing is driven by your TNB load and tariff, not by whatever stock a supplier wants to move. That independence is the point: the number you see is the number for your site — and it is a software and validation service, not a hardware sale.
Prove the TNB Maximum Demand saving before you buy
The largest lever on a Malaysian C&I bill is the TNB Maximum Demand charge — set by the single highest half-hour of the month. EWISER's Live Shadow runs a virtual battery on your real TNB-metered load and logs the would-be MD reduction in real time, so the demand-charge saving is proven on your own site before any capital is committed.
This is running today at InverPower in Kuala Lumpur, where a virtual 5 kW / 20 kWh battery holds a 2.9 kW MD ceiling and logs an −11.3% MD shift. Prove-before-you-buy turns a TNB demand-charge projection into measured evidence — see the Live Shadow page for how it works.
EWISER + InverPower: intelligent storage, delivered locally
For Malaysian C&I sites, EWISER partners with InverPower to deliver a complete intelligent-storage solution for Maximum Demand shaving. EWISER brings the control intelligence — the EDM reserve-aware dispatch that holds a reserve for the exact half-hour that sets the monthly TNB Maximum Demand charge — and the Live Shadow validation that proves the saving on your real load first. InverPower delivers, installs and services the system on the ground.
This is the difference between owning a battery and owning a battery that reliably lowers your Maximum Demand: intelligent MD shaving, sized on evidence and controlled by EDM, delivered locally. The EDM reserve-aware control framework and the Live Shadow validation framework are documented in EWISER's technical white papers, linked below.
TNB tariffs and Maximum Demand
Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) bills Medium Voltage commercial and industrial customers (tariffs such as C1 and C2) on both energy and Maximum Demand — the highest half-hour of demand in the month. Because a single peak sets that charge, battery peak shaving targets it directly, and the software models MD reduction against your interval load.
NEM 3.0 solar and self-consumption
Net Energy Metering (NEM 3.0) lets eligible C&I customers offset consumption with rooftop solar and net exported energy against imports. Pairing solar with storage raises self-consumption and shifts midday generation into the evening, which EWISER co-optimises so the combined payback is captured, not an optimistic sum.
Incentives: GITA
The Green Investment Tax Allowance (GITA) can improve project economics for qualifying green assets, including storage and solar. The software lets you reflect available incentives in the capital case so the payback shown is the one your project would actually see — stacked with MD reduction and NEM 3.0, not each stream valued in isolation.
Maximum Demand, ratchets and load factor
Because TNB Maximum Demand is set by a single half-hour, a plant with a poor load factor — brief spikes over a low average — pays disproportionately. Storage improves the effective load factor by clipping those spikes, lowering the billed MD across the months that set it.
The software shows the MD basis month by month, so you can see how much of the annual charge a given battery removes and whether pushing for a deeper shave is worth the extra capacity on a TNB Medium Voltage tariff.
What you need to size a Malaysian site
A TNB bill gives a preliminary estimate; an interval load profile plus your tariff gives an accurate one; and Live Shadow validates it on live metering before you buy. The engine applies TNB MD logic and MYR pricing automatically, and produces an investment-ready report you can take to a client or committee.
Prove the savings on your real site before you buy hardware
Live Shadow runs a virtual battery against your site's live metering and accrues the modelled savings in real time — using the same dispatch engine as the investment case. It is EWISER's unique prove-before-you-buy service: validate the business case on real operation, not a one-off study, before committing any capital.

Is EWISER an EPC or a battery installer?
No. EWISER is independent, vendor-neutral BESS sizing, ROI and validation software — not tied to any equipment brand. It sizes and proves the case, then works with hardware partners to deliver at the lowest cost.
How do EWISER and InverPower work together in Malaysia?
EWISER provides the intelligence and validation — EDM reserve-aware dispatch that shaves TNB Maximum Demand, and Live Shadow prove-before-you-buy validation on your real load — while InverPower delivers, installs and services the storage system locally. Together they provide a complete intelligent-storage solution for Maximum Demand shaving, already running at InverPower in Kuala Lumpur.
Can I validate the TNB Maximum Demand saving before buying hardware?
Yes — that is what Live Shadow does: it runs a virtual battery on your real TNB-metered load and logs the would-be Maximum Demand reduction in real time, before any purchase.
How does a battery cut a TNB bill?
By shaving the Maximum Demand peak that drives the MD charge on TNB Medium Voltage tariffs, and — with solar — by raising self-consumption under NEM 3.0.
Does it support NEM 3.0 and GITA?
Yes. It co-optimises rooftop solar and storage for self-consumption under NEM 3.0 and reflects GITA and other incentives in the capital case, in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR).
Is it free?
Yes. EWISER EStack is freely accessible at ewiser.energy; full delivery, including Live Shadow, runs through the EWISER partner platform.
