A real case: from diagnosis to EDMS, proven on a real meter
This is a real commercial & industrial site — a working Malaysian factory, kept anonymous — that went the whole EWISER way: diagnosed, analysed, and then proven on its own meter with Live Shadow. The numbers held against the actual utility bill. Only the last step remains — switching on EDMS to run the battery once it is deployed. Here is the loop, and where this case sits on it.
The loop
Four steps, one confident decision
EWISER runs a battery decision as one loop, and this case has completed the first three steps. Each step de-risks the next, and the whole point is that the money is committed only after the saving has been proven on the real meter — not before.
Step
Stage
What it delivers
01
Diagnose
Free sizing and a Maximum-Demand target from your own load.
02
Project Analysis
Payback, ROI and net benefit — an investment-grade, ready-to-invest report.
03
Live Shadow
Prove the saving on your real meter, reconciled to the actual bill — before any hardware.
04
EDMS
Run it: the in-house Energy Decision Management System optimises Maximum Demand and revenue on your deployed battery.
★ Key takeaway — Prove before you buy; optimise after you deploy — that is the whole loop.
The brain
How EDM decides the shave: the reservoir control law
Behind steps 2–4 is one control law. Picture the battery as a reservoir of water: release it to flatten the demand peak, but ration it so it never runs dry before the real peak lands. EWISER's EDM calibrates three levels from the site's own history — Floor, Guard and Ceiling — turning one battery into a strategy that behaves differently on a quiet day than on a dangerous one. It is forecast-light, and it is the same brain that runs in Live Shadow and, later, in EDMS.
Floor — how low it will push. On a quiet day the peak is shaved toward the floor and no further; going lower just burns cycles on demand you were never going to be billed for.Guard — the 'this could be a big one' line. When the running peak crosses the guard, the law stops draining freely and starts pacing, because the real peak may still be ahead.Ceiling — the line held at all costs. Near the ceiling the release tapers so the reservoir arrives full, with everything in hand to defend a genuine breach.
★ Key takeaway — One law — floor, guard, ceiling, re-sized monthly — so the battery defends the half-hour that actually sets the bill.
Step 3 · Proven
Live Shadow on the real meter
Live Shadow runs a virtual battery on the site's live metering — no hardware installed — using the exact same EDM reservoir law, and accrues the would-be saving in real time. On this case the result was then reconciled against the actual utility invoice, and cross-checked by EStack+ on the identical metered data. This is how a projection becomes evidence a bank can stand on.

Live Shadow on the real load: the EDM shadow (green) trims the actual demand (blue) toward the Maximum-Demand target, holding floor, guard and ceiling. On the day shown, a −13.8% shift in Maximum Demand.
★ Key takeaway — On this case, Live Shadow reconciled to within 0.02% of the billed Maximum Demand — proof before a cent of CAPEX.
Step 4 · EDMS
The one step left: run it with EDMS
EDMS is the in-house Energy Decision Management System: the EDM dispatch brain plus the operating layer that runs it on your deployed battery, optimising Maximum Demand and revenue month after month — the live version of the law that Live Shadow proved. The key design choice is that it flips on without a rip-and-replace: EWISER connects two-way to leading BESS platforms, so once the system is installed you simply switch EDMS on, on the hardware you already chose.

★ Key takeaway — EDMS runs the same EDM brain on your deployed hardware — no rip-and-replace. Tell us the BESS you're quoting and we'll confirm the connection.
The whole loop
Prove before you buy. Optimise after you deploy.
That is the EWISER loop end to end: metered proof up front with Live Shadow and EStack+, then EDM revenue and demand optimisation once the battery is in — on the hardware you already chose. This case has reached the edge of step 4; its battery is specified on evidence, and its saving is already proven on its own bill. EWISER does not sell the battery; it reads the load, proves the number, and then runs it.
★ Key takeaway — A battery decision made on proof, not a brochure — and an operating system ready to run it the day it is installed.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a real project or a model?
Real. It is an anonymised commercial & industrial site whose Live Shadow was completed on its actual metered load and reconciled against the real utility bill. We keep the customer confidential; the method and the reconciliation accuracy are what we share.
What is EDMS, and how is it different from EDM?
EDM is the dispatch algorithm — the reservoir control law that decides the shave. EDMS is the in-house Energy Decision Management System that runs EDM on your deployed battery for ongoing Maximum-Demand and revenue optimisation, connected to your BESS platform.
Do I have to use specific hardware?
No. EWISER is hardware-agnostic. EDMS connects two-way to leading BESS platforms (Sungrow and Wayon today, Hoymiles in progress), so you switch it on without changing the hardware you chose. Tell us the system you're quoting and we'll confirm the link.
